Lake Toba is the world biggest volcanic lake located in Sumatra, getting there can prove a challenge.
The people there are called Batak, previously head hunters who now mostly converted to Christians. Their culture are very unique especially the buffalo horn roof top and the food is simply fantastic.

Lake Toba has been my dream destination since 1990. At that time getting there was rather difficult as the transportation was not easily available and was expensive.

• Rent a bike and go around the island

Koh Chang Thailand

Koh Chang is one of the most beautiful island in Thailand, there were very little tourist and the traffic is like a stand still.

The best way to travel around the island is best to rent a bike.

Note: Coming from Cambodia by land

If you have not prepare a Thai VISA, the Cambodian immigration will ask you to get it from Thai immigration. It's about 150m away. Once you have obtain the Thai VISA only then the Cambodian Immigration will allow you to depart. 

We took land transport and there was quite a waiting time.
